August & September 2016

Monday, August 15, 2006 marked the first day of school.  It's also the first day of school for Avery.  She was assigned to Mrs. Yang's class, the same teacher as Zach had.

The school year madness has begun.  Thankfully, Grandma Lo arrived the week before to help out.
Monday also was the day that Mommy received an email saying that Conner's daycare will be closing its doors at the end of the month.  It was a mad scramble to find another daycare for him as most infant spots get taken up.
Meanwhile, Conner's quite happy walking around but he requires you to hold his hand.  He's also quite happily co-sleeping with Mommy.

We took a little field trip to San Francisco as a reward for the kids.  We don't have a picture but they loved eating ice cream at Ghiradelli Square, especially Conner.  We didn't end up doing a cable car ride because the wait was over an hour but we plan to go back another day for that.

Meanwhile, Grandpa Lo arrived September 13.  The very next day, Conner decided to finally let go of our hands and began happily walking on his own.

Meanwhile, September also means the fall soccer season has resumed.  Zach's back on Coach Steve's team and is much improved.  On his very first game, he scored a goal and discovered the joys of winning.

Uncle James' family also came for a visit and to celebrate Daddy's birthday.
Only about five months apart, but Conner looks so much bigger than Penny.

Avery also started soccer.  Apparently, the Under-6 (U6) League doesn't really have games.  They do practice and then a scrimmage all during 1.5 hours on Saturday mornings.

Right from the beginning, Avery was enthusiastic and aggressive.  But her engine quickly ran out and she was asking to be sat out within 10 minutes of scrimmage.

End of September means it's time to think about Halloween costumes.  Here's Conner trying out a few of Zach and Avery's old costumes.  Personally, I like the elephant costume the best.  But we'll have to wait and see which one we decide to go with.

Judging from the face, not sure if Conner likes this one.  But Mommy's so completely jealous of his skin.  Not everyone can rock yellow!

Zach and Avery play at different schools every Saturday.  So Daddy and I have to split up to take them.  Every week, we draw straws to see who will also have to take Conner.  September has been easy since the grandparents were around to watch Conner.  Sadly, they left at the end of September.

The weekend before Grandparents were leaving, we made a daytrip to Monterey.  Unfortunately, it was so hot that we made a short day of it and decided to head home to enjoy the A/C.
